Congratulations to the following track students going to State:
The 4x100 team of Danny, Cameron, Connor, and Kaden with alternate Caden C. got 2nd place but ran qualifying time of 48.34 and broke a school record.
The 4x400 team of Cameron, Cason, Connor and Kaden with alternate Danny got 1st place with a time of 3:51.3 and also broke the school record. This was an amazing race to watch…they battled with East St. Louis most of the race but they couldn’t keep up with Matuska the last 200 meters.
Kaden Matuska was also successful in running the 200m with a time of 24.82 for 2nd place but the time still qualifies him to run at state.
Overall, we placed 3rd (84.5 points) for 8th grade to East St. Louis (87 points) and Vandalia (89 points).
